The Tuscaloosa County Bar Association (TCBA) is a voluntary organization consisting of members who are licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Alabama who are in good standing with the Alabama State Bar and who reside in, or regularly practice law in Tuscaloosa County.
The TCBA meets quarterly and provides its members with continuing legal education opportunities and with opportunities to support philanthropic and charitable endeavors.
The officers of the Association consist of a president, vice-president and a secretary/treasurer. It is governed by an executive committee consisting of six (6) members who are elected for three -year terms. The TCBA also employs an executive director.
The work of the TCBA is conducted through various committees. The Association also designates representatives to the Public Defender Commission and the Judicial Commission.
The Association presents its Liberty Bell Award annually to a non-lawyer who has made an extraordinary contribution to our justice system.
